  1. I actually think this grading rubric is really good. It is specific and helps us to know exactly what you are looking for. What I wonder now is if you will give us topics, or if we have to choose our own? I think giving us broad topics would help us focus our posts, but if it's broad you wouldnt have to read the same posts 20 or 30 different times. I like having the specific rubric, so we can be responsible for our grade.

  2. The rubric on The Reading Workshop has some good ideas of things to include on a Blog. I think it could be adapted for our class Blog.

  3. I think this rubric will help us create a blog with more content and posts. I think it would also help if the topic of the posts was stated more specifically. A "So What?" theme or point is still kind of vague.

  4. The grading rubric is good. It lets us know what you want and how you want it, though i am a bit blur on the topic "So What" themed, i am not really sure what i am suppose to post because whats fun to me can be boring to you.

I like this rubric in general, but some of it is rather fuzzy, which might be because it is not our class's assignment so the specifics that it is evaluating aren't exactly clear to us since the assignment wasn't explained to us. The "So What?" portion specifically is what is a bit unclear. However, I do like that one of the bullet points requires that the blog be "Concise (3 -4 paragraphs) with a specific focus. I also like the requirement of the "Opening" grabbing the attention of the readers' because I think that this is very important if you want people to read your blog.

  6. I really like the rubric. I think it was straightforward and easy to understand for students. I'm always nervous about making rubric's for my future classroom because I want them to be able to understand what is expected of them. The only think I thought was unclear was the "So What" part of the rubric. Overall, it seemed pretty well put together.

  7. I (Nick) think that this would be a good rubric for the blogs in our class. It is specific and will be able to separate those who actually spend time on their blog and those who just put it together last minute. It lets the student know how he/she will do on the assignment by just following the rubric.

I thought that this grading rubric would be great for our class especially because it gives us direction to be specific in our blog post and it does differentiate those who actually take the time to work on their blog and those who don't. Blog rubrics are also important to have because as future teachers we do need to be efficient and clear on our blogs for our students and their parents.

  9. I really like this rubric! I think it is really fun and educational. The only thing I would take out or clarify would be the "So What?" Another good thing about this rubric is the teacher posts a short and easy to read version of the rubric, but I like how the teacher has a link to see the full rubric. So probably all the students will read the easy simple rubric but can also look deeper into the rubric or if they have questions by just clicking.

  10. I think that this rubric can definitely be applied to our class. It seems to cover all of the really important aspects of what our blogs need to contain. I do feel that some adaptations need to be made though. As of right now a lot of us are making our blogs and putting content on them but we do not know exactly what kind of content you want on them. I think that once you tell us the content and ideas that you want on our blogs, then we will be bale to use this rubric as a guide. The nice thing about the rubric is that its simple and to the point. I think it would be very easily applied to the concepts of this class.

  11. The rubric could apply to our class, however our class is more about a classroom environment using blogs and technology. If you were to grade our blogs the rubric should be constructed in a way that grades overall content and layout not on what we are writing. This rubric is for a specific purpose and class. Our rubric should be made for this class.

  12. I think that the grading rubic would be easily applied to todays classroom. I think that it would be great for our class because then it would give us a specific instruction on what we need to do with our blogs.

I am glad that rubrics are given.Something told by one of my Education teachers is the fact that rubrics increases the precision,it also improves performance.On the other hand without a rubric the students will question their grade,so having a rubric is a guide to improving individual scores and helps students do better.In the rubric i feel that it can be more specific for e.g the So what portion, im just wondering how so will the teacher grade this because there can be many kinds of "so what portions"but how will students know which one is the one worth the grade or of good quality.Question is will they settle for below competency or will they want their grades to be excellent.

I think the rubric is good because it was specific enough to state what the expectations are, but as with other people's feedback, I think that we don't know exactly what we should be writing and including on our blogs. I like rubrics because it allows us to also gauge where are work is, and how much you expecting.

I like the Rubric because it gives me an idea of whats needed to my my blog "the bomb.com!" and it's helpful to know whats expected of you and to see examples of what blogs can be is pretty cool. Rubrics are awesome they allow us to measure performance on different levels, it's always good to have them.

  17. I think this rubric is pretty good but it seems a little fuzzy. Grading personal bogs are pretty difficult because it’s “personal” and almost like a journal. I think that if it’s going to get into specifics we should have assigned topics to write about, but if the purpose of the blogs are to just have one and know how to post things the content shouldn’t matter as long as it has something.

  18. This rubris seems pretty good to me. I think it can be easily adapted to fit our class. I also agree with Melissa's comment that grading personal blogs is hard because it's personal and everybody had their own ideas about what they want. The rubric either has to be fairly general and open, or we should have specific topics, etc. to include.

I like how part of the rubric focuses on grabbing the attention of the readers (the opening as an attention grabber) and also having the students to be concise/specific, because it keeps the students on track and the blog is a measurable assessment. I think this rubric, if changed to fit the specifics in our class, can be used for this class.

  20. I really like the rubric! and the example blogs are wonderful! The rubric is straight forward and very understandable. It will guide us on our way to making sure it is organized and interesting.

  21. I liked the rubric. It was specific and easy to understand. The only thing that I think could be improved is the, "So What" part. It is broad and could be more specific. Overall, I think it is a good rubric and could be modified to fit our class.
