As people of the 21st century we can see the rapid increase in the use of technology and the role it plays in our everyday lives. As teachers of the 21st century we must look at this new found use of technology and use it in the classrooms because it can become an effective teaching tool. In this article, we felt that the most important thing stated was that we not integrate technology into our lesson plans but that we create new lessons based off the use of technology. Technology is going to become more and more prevalent in the school systems and we need to advance with the times and create a learning environment where the students and teachers know how to use a computer. As a group we feel that incorporating technology into the classroom is essential in today's society and this article provided us, as future teachers with the next step to progressing in an already progressive educational system.

Our group made several comments that we thought the article was quite interesting and created a view that we really haven't thought of before. Several of us just thought that you could just incorporate technology into normal lessons, but apparently, according to the article, if you do that, then you are not really fusing the two together, and your classroom will not learn what they could have if you had really USED the technology instead of just adding it in. You have to create new self learning opportunities where technology is a tool not a lesson. We all need to realize that students are capable of taking control of their lives and education. They can own their learning,BUT we also think that there should be a level of guidance by teachers so that students aren’t just doing the bare minimum. Teachers are to help students learn but more importantly help students learn how to teach themselves. These are interesting resolutions. They seem very tailored to the computer savvy teacher. We also feel that the resolutions from this article will seem more relevant to us as we become more acquainted with these different tech methods.

These new years resolutions suggestions for teachers helps to put into perspective the important responsibility we have and also the things we as future teachers could incorporate into our teaching. What better way to teach than to provide our students with opportunities of self-learning and exploring. Giving our students the opportunity to carry out tasks will provide them with the skills, experience and knowledge that will reflect their learning. We never realized how much technology can affect learning and as future teachers, we feel that it is essential that we master the use of technology in our lessons so that it will benefit our students, by using the internet as resources and tools of learning.
Technology is such a blessing and is a great tool and aid for collaboration and getting students involved and interested in what they're learning. Since majority of kids are into computers why not have them use something they're familiar with and learn something useful. One said, "Technology is not as hands on as I'd like my student to be but with how quickly times are changing we're going to have to adapt and I think that there are so many creative things students and teachers can do with technology we have." Amazing to know that we can create things with the click of a mouse but it still takes a creative mind to do it so it does take brains. It is a really good idea to start the kids off early in finding their own answers and becoming "experts" on certain areas through sources and then writing their own blogs. It was also important when it talks about giving the students a real audience. Real people being interest in what they are learning and experiencing.

We feel that this is a good article. It seems to be a general consensus that it is very positive that teachers will be able to be aided in using other teachers as resources. It is always good to be able to go and do some observations of other teachers but the fact that we are able to use electronic and web resources given to us by other teachers is a great thing. Since students are becoming more and more familiar with technology these days, and especially at a younger age, it seems that using more technology in the learning process can be a very effective way for educating students. One thing that does need to be considered though is the legal side of things. We have to make sure that as we do more things online that we protect the children from any type of online predators (like with blogs, twitter, facebook, etc) and also some of the inappropriate things that are out there on the web. Parents may need a little help though in helping their students as some may still not be as computer savvy as the younger generation. Still we feel that this was a good article and the things in it, if put to good use could potentially be very effective in the education of the rising generation.

This article is very beneficial for future teachers interested in the technoloical aspect of education. New years resoulutions can often be very effective and used throughout the school year. When students use technology in the classroom they become more hands on active learners. As
the world progresses more and more technology as become more and more popular in the classroom. Often times students know more about technology than teachers. Although technology can be a beneficial addition to the classroom the teacher must ensure that they are following the child protection laws and not exposing private information on the Internet.
Our group believes that technology is an
important aspect to education is schools today. Sometimes students are more educated in the field of technology than teachers and parents of the older generations. In fact this is a frequent phenomenon all over the world today. Technology can involve the creativity of students and help to build student, teacher, and parent relationships making the three participants a cooperative triangle. After reading this article Our group is excited to learn more about the technology tools that we will be able to incorporate in our future classrooms.

We thought the article pointed out great ideas all teachers should consider in their classrooms. First was that technology creates a collaborative and active classroom where both teachers and students benefit from one another. Student and teacher relationships can benefit from working together and learning from eachother through technological devices. Another concept we liked was that technology should not be a tool to be integrated, meaning teachnology should not be thought of seperate or differently, it should just be used in the classroom. Using technology involves the students and get them interested in the class and helps them to stay on task. Our last idea is that technology could help teachers assess what children are actually learning. Technology helps children reason, think for themselves, and increases learning oppurtunities.

We defintely agree with Group 4 because as we use technology to create new lessons. It is a tool for students and teachers alike. Teachnology is going to provide a learning environment. Technology is going to become essential to learning, if it hasn't already, so we as future teachers need to accept it and integrate it rather than fighting it and having to use it anyway. This is a new way which teachers can be creative and different. With teachnology the sky is the limit! Embrace it, Love it, learn it, and use it.

We agree with a lot of the points made by group #2. It is very important that we as future teachers soak in this new idea of technology in the classroom. We must bring together both technology and teaching because this is what the future of education is. We also agree that it is important for teachers to find an even balance in which the students are still learning and working rather than just doing small amounts of work.

We very much agree with group 1's response. We too feel that it was a great article, but that we as teachers do need to be very aware of the legal side of things, and be cautious with the information we put online, so as to avoid predators of any kind. Group 1 said that they think that the use of technology is a great thing in education, but that it must be used PROPERLY, which point we completely agree with. If technology is used right, then it can add tremendously to the knowledge of students today, but if used incorrectly or inappropriately, then it can become a hindrance and a distraction to the classroom. However, the amounts of information that you can process and exchange is becoming extremely fast. This can aid teachers in various ways, and even speed up communication through administrators, and parents between teachers. We suppose the only concern with advancing technology is competence, and responsibility. Like group one mentioned, some parents or students may not be familiar with how to use certain web applications, and this may slow communication or the learning process in the beginning. Also, the responsibility to use technology wisely and efficiently will also determine the effectiveness of it as a tool in the classroom.

Group 5 did a great job! We all agreed that students and teachers can benefit from online resources in the classroom and it will provide new skills and experiences. It also talked about how in today’s world knowing technology is essential for the job market. Our world today is a technology driven planet. It is making the job easier but it is still making the students think and use their creativity.

We agree with you about the importance of having feedback. Since there is not alot of time in the regular classroom for one on one feedback time, being able to get and give feedback using technology is extremely useful and at times so much easier. It is also a great idea to make sure technology is viewed as normal everyday life and not different, because we are relying more and more on it as time goes by. Example: Paying bills method has changed from travelling straight to the business, but rather is done from home, online. We also agree that both students and teachers can benefit from using technology in the classroom, because it makes collaboration a whole lot easier. After all, teachers can learn alongside their students too :)
